A Disney World vacation is so much more than just enjoying the Parks. Although the parks are great and should be enjoyed, there are more parts to your vacation. There is so much to do, from enjoying shopping, to dining, to enjoying your Resort.

Speaking of the resort, you will have a few decisions to make. The first thing you need to decide is if you will be staying on-site or off-site. If you shop around, especially if you are with a large group, you can save money by staying offsite and there are many choices, from hotels to houses. For us personally, there is no discussion, we always want to stay on-site.

Staying on-site allows you to stay in the “magic” for the entirety of your vacation as well as other perks. A Walt Disney World Resort is a great place to have fun. Your resort will have you room, as well as pools, at least one restaurant and at least one gift shop. Staying at a Disney Resort is like a vacation in itself!

Where Do I Stay?

If you have decided to stay on-site (we highly recommend it), congratulations you will love your stay. Choosing to stay on-site gives you benefits such as extra magic hours (extra time in the parks available only to on-site guests), free transportation inside Disney World, as well as the opportunity to spend more of your vacation enjoying Disney World instead of traveling back and forth.

Walt Disney World has three main categories that their resorts are grouped into. The categories are Deluxe, Moderate, and Value Resorts. As the names suggest the highest price point is in the Deluxe resorts followed by the Moderate Resorts, and then the least expensive are the value resorts.

Inside each category are multiple resorts with a total of over 20 choices! I will break down the categories further in a future post, but for now, I will mention that for our family of 5 we enjoy and get the most bang for our buck staying at the moderate resorts.

Enjoy your vacation and have fun choosing your resort! They are all themed differently which allows you to choose one that fits who you are!
