5 Things You Can’t Miss Coming To Disney World in 2020!

Hello, 2020! It’s a new year, and we know great things are coming to A Dollop Of Disney! Not only a Dollop Of Disney- but also Disney World! So, I’m going to tell you about some of the exciting new things coming to Disney World in 2020 that you can’t miss!

1: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Since the Great Movie Ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed back in August 2017, we’ve been waiting for what would replace it; Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Coming on March 4th, 2020 is Hollywood Studios’ new dark ride, and the first-ever Disney ride featuring Mickey and Minnie. This new attraction will take guests inside of a Mickey Mouse cartoon! This ride will be opening in 2020 in Disney World, but will also be opening in Disneyland by 2022. I can’t wait to ride this one, along with a lot of other people. Be ready for long waits when the ride first opens! 2020 will just bring more craziness to Hollywood Studios… as if we needed it!

2: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Opening in summer 2020 in EPCOT, is a new to Disney World attraction based on the movie Ratatouille! This attraction is just like the one in Disneyland Paris called, Ratatouille: The Adventure. This new ride is pretty different from most rides you will find at EPCOT because it’s a trackless 4D dark ride. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be located in the France pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase. This is a family-friendly attraction, however, expectant mothers or people with motion sickness should probably skip this one, like they would for the one in Disneyland Paris. This new ride is only one of the new things coming to EPCOT in 2020.

3: Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant in Toy Story Land

The first and only Table Service restaurant in Toy Story Land is coming in 2020! The basic idea of this new BBQ restaurant is that guests are shrunken down to the size of a toy after entering Andy’s back yard, and they are attending his toy rodeo. While eating, you will be surrounded by many “cardboard cutouts” and a variety of other toys, and characters from the Toy Story movies. There is no specific opening date, so all we know is that it is coming sometime in 2020. I can’t wait to hear more about this restaurant! Let’s hope the food will be delicious!

4: Space 220 Restaurant

Expected to open sometime in early 2020, is a new restaurant coming to EPCOT’s Future World, called Space 220. Space 220 is a space-themed restaurant that lets guests eat their meals while looking out the windows to see space! (Obviously, we won’t be seeing real space, but the story of the restaurant is that you are in outer space, 220 miles above the earth) To get to your table, you will get inside an elevator that replicates a rocket ship and it makes it look like you are rocketing into orbit. We won’t have to wait long to experience this amazing new eatery, since Space 220 is expected to be opening in February 2020.

5: HarmonioUS

EPCOT’s old fireworks show Illuminations had a great almost twenty-year run, from 1999 to 2019, until the classic fireworks show was temporarily replaced by a new show called EPCOT Forever. But, sometime in 2020, EPCOT forever will be permanently (As far as we know at least) replaced by a new show called HarmonioUS. HarmonioUS will be, according to Disney Parks Blog, the largest nighttime spectacular ever created for a Disney Park! Now that sounds like something you shouldn’t miss! This new fireworks spectacular will be sending the message that everyone around the world is connected. While Illuminations was great, I’m very excited to see the turnout for HarmonioUS! (I read somewhere that Disney changed it to Harmonious instead of HarmonioUS, but I don’t think that’s been confirmed)

And Maybe… The Tron Coaster

Since we first heard about the upcoming Tron coaster coming to Magic Kingdom back in 2017, we’ve been patiently awaiting its arrival. (Okay, maybe not so patiently) Anyways, the new Tron coaster will be located in Tomorrowland and will be based on the Tron Lightcycle Power Run in Shanghai Disneyland. I’m not necessarily counting this as one of the new things you should check out in 2020 because I don’t think this will open in 2020. Disney has only confirmed that this new coaster will open before Disney World’s 50th birthday on October 1st, 1971, meaning in 2021. However, I have heard some rumors that this attraction might open in late 2020 if we’re lucky. We can only cross our fingers!

Look Out For More!

Those are some of the biggest new things coming to Disney World in 2020, but they aren’t the only things. There are new shows, new restaurants, and even more! Also, new things do change, so make sure to look out for even more 2020 surprises!

See You Real Soon!
